Fortunate for us, there are many wonderful old homes in the Owen Sound and Grey Bruce area that were built for beauty and permanence. Historic homes (from modest to grand) have an individual appeal depending on the design and materials used. Many of the architectural styles in our area are similar to styles from the countries from where the early settler migrated. Stories are countless of lumbermen, stone cutters, carpenters and masons etc. Presently “Parham House” a 1878 stone home in Georgian Bluffs, is home to me. My husband and I respect the industrious character of the people who built such marvellous structures.
